Right now it's November 10, 2011, Thursday night here in Vancouver, BC. I was getting out of the family car to go back into the house when I noticed something different; it was exceptionally bright for 9:00 pm. Then I looked up and realized it was a full moon. At that moment I couldn't help but think about Pandora and how it is, like the moon, so magnificent, so mesmerizing, so astounding, and at the same time, so far out of reach.
Before I entered the house, I took a look around the neighborhood and all at once, it was like re-watching Avatar; everything was so blue, so peaceful, so calm. The moon shining down onto the surface of the Earth, creating that magical atmosphere. It wasn't until my mom shouted at me to get back in did I realize I was standing there like a stone. It really beats me to think that all the best things in the world are so far out of grasp. I know it sounds a bit corny or cheesy but it's just impossible to ignore this weird... sensation .

It's so true...
The moon is a strange thing. It looks so distant, but it's closer than anything else to Earth, yet no human alive has a real chance of even walking there, so definitely not anywhere further ![]() There's something about nights like that, it makes me realise the scale involved in space... Perhaps somewhere, people don't make the same mistakes as humans.

What a magic moment. The other way there was a program on the tele about galaxies & nebulae, & it was fascinating. Just blows you away. The eternal human longing for: "What's out there?"

Sometimes at full moons, I imagine it's some other planet, or maybe the moon of some other planet. I imagine it in different colors and wonder who lives there. Even if they make the same mistakes as us, I feel they'd be worth meeting
But they are painfully far away, wherever they are

That they are... I just imagine that looking at that insignificant little star Earth orbits, and wondering the same thing. That helps

Whenever moments like this happen I try to enjoy them as long as I can. I have them a lot when It's dark out and I look up, see the stars, and a cool breeze is blowing. I just close my eyes and imagine myself somewhere else, some other planet enjoying the breeze looking up at a beautiful sky.
I look forward to those moments and miss them when there gone, it's almost like talking to a good friend over the phone, they are almost there but not quite and when they hang up, you're right back to where you were.

Yeah, couldn't agree more. It's that weird feeling of emptiness once you realize you're back to where you have started; with nothing being accomplished and merely just an illusion in your mind. Things like these aways makes me depressed.
