Default can any of you sing?

i never cared for singing but ever since i got back into playing guitar a few years ago and listening to alot more music, i started to wish that i could sing. i've watched tutorials on youtube and tried singing in the shower (quietly ) but i always sound crap. i know one important thing is to use your diaphragm but i don't know how to do this. anyway, if any of you sing then this can be a thread for discussing techniques, talking about your favourite singers etc. one of my favourite singers is definitely Phil Anselmo, he's just got a naturally awesome voice and it's perfect for singing. i wish i sounded like him

Proper breathing technique is to breathe with your stomach, chest and shoulders relaxed, and use your lower abdominal and kegel muscles to support the breath, especially when you're nearing the top of your register.

I only sing in the car when no one else is in it. At the moment, I have no car. Hence, I don't sing right now.

I've also slowly gotten myself to sing and play guitar at the same time, it was harder for me than I thought it would be. (And I decide to not care what I sound like so long as I try to improve.) But I don't have a guitar with me at the moment either.

Pretty darn good at whistling, though.

Txona Rolyusi can sing pretty damn well.

I bet he'll post in this thread next time he comes by.

I've sung in choirs and all that for different things, including a musical, but I haven't really been able to get my voice high up for a few years. I'm mostly a bass/baritone now. I'm sure I could have a better voice with training and more practice, but I don't really have the time.

Favourite singer... either Bjork or Eartha Kitt. I rather enjoy unique voices.

I can sing if I use a hushed tone of voice which is only a bit louder then a whisper.
No one has heard me though, apart from the occasional spider.

I *do* sing, but god knows whether I actually *can* sing, if you know what I mean.

My "singing" usually constitutes wailing scales over the top of songs, rather than singing lyrics... I enjoy doing it, and i've been told it's not the worst in the world, but I rarely sing openly.

During my senior year in high school I was in the school musical "once upon a matress" and I was able to tune my voice and sing the right notes. Just a little practice and I did. I can Dance too.

Ateyo te Syaksyuk plays the Mandolin, and sings Alto, I play 6 and 12 string, dobro, and pedal steel guitar, Viola, native flute, harmonica, and keyboards.
I have a professional quality voice that is dead on from Tenor all the way through Soprano, NO falsetto. ( I guess that God rewarded me with that voice
as compensation for being born the way that I was).
