This december the first Hobbit movie is released. Its name is The Hobbit "An Unexpected Journey" and it will be followed in 2013 by its sequal The Hobbit, "There and Back Again". It is directed by Peter Jackson and ofcourse based on J R R Tolkiens book "The Hobbit" which takes place before the events in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Here is a trailer.

I cannot wait for this! More specifically part two because I love dragons, and that is when we will meet Smaug. Thanks for sharing the trailer.
I don't think your last comment is entirely appropriate for an epic of Middle-earth, however, it is as if you are down playing the story's glory in comparison to Avatar. Middle-earth is as rich as any other world out there. Its history is long and bumpy. That is just my opinion, though. I simply couldn't remain silent. |

Ok, this was the first time I'd sat down and watched the trailer.
This is going to thrash every record for opening weekend. I can't wait to see it. - Mikko

The Avengers Earns 2nd Highest Opening Day Box Office Even though I am a massive Tolkien fan and agree that this movie is going to be the biggest highlight of the year I sorely doubt it will beat out this juggernaut. Hell I have already heard speculation that The Avengers could beat Avatar for highest gross of all time! Anyway the biggest thing that excites me for the Hobbit is the 48fps/3D. If they can nail that down, make it look good(which is apparently a problem) then I am sold. Hell I am already sold on the weapons design alone! Dear God the Dwarves armor and weapons look good. Also this The Hobbit - Full Production Video Blogs 1-6 - Lord of the Rings - HD Movie - YouTube YES!!!! SO much done right. Real sets, minimal greenscreen, real props, I think I am in love.

Aww yeah, that movie was the best. I'd tie it with The Dark Knight for sure, and if that wasn't your kind of movie, The Avengers was the best for sure. Woo Joss Whedon ![]() Sorry to get off topic >.> |

Oh yes, I saw the trailer a couple months ago, just after I finished reading The Hobbit and am totally pumped for it. I'm glad that Peter Jackson is directing it and many of the old faces are going to be in it.

I honestly hope that this movie will put me into an imaginary world of adventure and excitement as much as LOTR did.

Well, now it is here, the first of three films about the Hobbit, based on Tolkiens book from 1937. It is of course in 3d and also shot with a new technique showing more frames per second than ordinary films.
Someone who has seen the film yet? |

Is it out yet? We don't get to see it till boxing day.
Personally I can't wait to see The Hobbit. It was the first Tolkien book that I read as a kid, then I migrated on to the LOTR Books. ![]() I hope Smaug is depicted in the film as accurately as possible...

Just come back from the cinema after going to see it. I thought the whole film was really good, moves at a decent pace, awesome music and scenery, considerably more humour than the other LOTR films (be that a good or bad thing).
Only thing I didn't like was the fact the goblins spoke remarkably good english Other than that, truly mega! Go watch it!
