Just thought I'd share a "genre" of modern classical music that I find to be quite moving. I'll post kind of an introductory video and then some of my favorites. Holy minimalism tends to embrace simplicity whereas a lot of 20th and 21st century composers tend to try to push boundaries with odd sounds and music, I find. This music is easy to enjoy whether you're religious or not.

Interesting stuff. I had heard Górecki's Symphony no. 3 before (and was stunned the first time I heard that second movement) but nothing of Tavener, Pärt, or the whole school of thought behind their work 'til now. Thanks for posting all this.

For anyone who may care, John Tavener died in November at age 69.
