Edit: Damn, a typo in the title. Can a mod fix this? Thx!
As mentioned in the title, it's just a rumor, but... According to Latino-Review (they call it an exclusive) Arnold would play some kind of human general in the sequel. This could also mean he could appear in the subsequent sequels (if he doesn't meet the same fate as Quaritch did in the original Avatar) ![]() Here's the link Cheers! Pretty neat. Now I'm picturing a Na'vi yelling "Get to da chappa".

Well, it's maybe not the case after all, according to the big wigs at 20th Century Fox, Arnold is not being considered for the role.
The site Latino Review where this story emerged has been on a roll lately for acting scoops so there's still a chance, especially since studios tend to deny such news even if it's true. Of course, things could change but so far, the studio denies it according to the Hollywood Reporter. Damn ![]() Btw, someone on DeviantArt made this

That is such a weird picture
I kind of liked how the actors in Avatar were, at the time, not extremely successful or well known since I recognize faces really easily and make associations where I shouldn't. |

I know this is based on very little, but I'd love to see Arnold play some kind of no nonsense but somewhat asleep at the wheel RDA executive. Like someone who is so focused on the "big picture" that he didn't know anything about what was going on, but in the end would have actually approved of everything Selfridge and Quaritch did.
To me, this would play off Arnold's difficulty properly pronouncing "Avatar". They could play it off as well he (the character, not Arnold himself) just doesn't care enough to pronounce it correctly. That's just my take and what I'd do with it. I'm actually concerned about the possibility of Arnold playing a human general. While Quaritch may have been called "colonel", he really wasn't. It was a private mercenary force. He was just called that because at one point he was a colonel. Sending a general to me is implying Earth governments getting involved on Pandora on behalf of corporate interests and well, I really hope that's not the way its going to go with the sequel. It's hard enough disputing claims that the RDA is supposed to represent 'murica as is. |

Too bad he won't be in it. It would have been fun to see him in it.
