One of the most analysable piece of text to me.

And she's buying a Stairway to Heaven-
to me being blinded by thinking that valueable stuff is important, and the idea that you can buy your way to happiness.

-When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for-

-There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven-
thinking you get what you wanted after having lived the way society makes you live, and realising that your "thoughts are misgiven".

In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking-
realising inside what you really wanted

interesting one, if a message is heard in time, and all people listen to it together, then the feeling for what you really want will lead you. eventually, if you stick to it, you will live a happy life.

Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on-
indicating that you can still change

-Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your Stairway lies on the whispering wind-
even more interesting, deep inside it bothers you, and you dont realise that the feeling of nature is always there for you. the 'stairway" to the life that you really want lies in your emotions, always ready to guide you.

-And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold-
everything can still turn to "gold" if you change.
-And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll-
to be a rock and not to roll would mean that you have a natural character, but you dont follow it, a great ending imo because it sums together the message.
