Default Existence of God

First of all, you already probably know about my first thread about it and that it was closed becouse I was 'agressive' I'll try not to be agressive here, but when I think about this world I say what I think so, this leads us to this topic.

God doesn't exist, why?
look araund you, read the newspaper, watch the news and you will see why.
Russia is nuking Ukraine all the tame and I'm afraid that this conflict can turn into a world war I don't know if its possible but I know that Putin is psychotic and that no one will stop him he has ukrain in his sights today, but who knows if tomorrow it will be the resty of the world. Another thing is those skxawngs which are terrorists, they are everywhere. did you here about the shootout in France where a newspaper redactory was ivaded by terrorists and they killed a lot of peaple, why becouse someone said something bad about Islam. they are killing for the glory of a hunk of metal called 'Allah' in Mekka naming it 'god' or those shootings in schools, iniceunt childrin are being killed for nothing. Tgat leads me to one question-where is god? Why is he letting this happen? and does he even EXIST?

SERIUSLY! If god would exist, he would do something with those terrorists and the world would be much, much better

I think that the question of why people are committing acts of terrorism is very separate from the question of whether there exists a God - no matter if it's viewed from a spiritual or more scientific angle.

It can definitely be said that people are using religion as an excuse to commit horrible acts, but that says more about the people than the beliefs. Looking at larger, organized religions most people interpret these beliefs as a message of peace and understanding - unfortunately the extremists make themselves far more noticed.

In either case arguing the existence of God feels like somewhat of a moot point, since in the end it comes down to belief - not justification. The very concept of God is a very immaterial one, it's a question of what you personally think. I say, if the belief in a God makes millions of people see hope every day, it can only be a great thing. Whether it's provable or not is of lesser importance.

God has not been proven to be real.
God has not been proven to be false.
The Higgs Boson particle was not known about/proved for how long? But it didn't cease to be for all that time just because our scientific knowledge hadn't caught up with it now did it.

Let's just assume God does exist for a moment. What I find truly sweet is how people think he/she/they would necessarily be on our side simply because they are a higher power. Who's to say God isn't an enormous star dwelling rodent and we are being punished with war and disease for persecuting rats for being vermin? Assuming gods are humans, Mars, for example was the Roman god of war - I'm sure he would have revelled in and encouraged all the bloodletting going on in the world at the moment.

What if all the gods hang out in their celestial homes looking down on us and betting against each other which human faction/nation will get conquered next as a kind of sport, in much the same way we'd bet on horse racing.

And, maybe, if God is real, he's responsible for all the other planets and life in the universe to which he adds more each day. I doubt he has time to deal with our earthly troubles when he has likely made many many other intelligent species on other worlds that are cleverer, more compassionate or more entertaining than us and more deserving of his time.

And like you say, it could all be a load of make-belief. Who knows?

You know, if there is interest in an actual debate, I can always clean up the thread.

But given the amount of activity here at the moment, I won't enforce that
