I liked this movie. It has nods to the older films as well as it's own takes on scenes giving nods to the past. I'm trying not to spoil it for those who've not seen it yet.
It's gritty, dark, frightening, and disturbing all in one. The way the creatures burst out their hosts brings back the body horror of the original movie and keeping it fresh with a new spin on how. I recall in the theater someone person puked into their popcorn. The movie is not for the squeamish. Hey, it's an Alien movie, gore and such is always expected. Michael Fassbender plays two characters in this film and it's weird how they interact in one scene. |

i saw it here at the 24-screen Silver Gems ArcLight Theater, in Portland, Oregon...wow it was really visceral, violent, gory, unsettling, and totally great! no spoilers, but that ending is a total wide open wtf moment towards more sequels.
when will we ever see LV426?

There is a third film on the way and yeah, all these take place before LV-426 is discovered in the original Alien movie. So it's leading up to it. Alien Awakening being filmed now.
The movie novel does expand on the film, but solves issues fans had with this film and the xenos and how they and David relate.
