Avatar Sequels: Kate Winslet is in

According to Deadline, Kate Winslet is joining the sequel in the role of "Ronal".

AS per JC:

"Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life."

There's not a lot of details concerning this character yet. Will update as more info is available.

Its very interesting how people are reacting to this compared with other avatar 2 news, its so much more positive than before. Perhaps this is because Kate Winslet news draws in a wider audience or her role makes avatar more "acceptable".

Please none of that annoying song. I like Titanic and all,but the real ship and sinking prove more fun for me than a love story set on it. Besides with the new evidence, the sinking would have been much more frightening. The ship never got that high up in the movie, but was shallower when she broke in half, catching all by surprise. "She went down and seemed to come up again." as one survivor said. The 12 degree angle was why. She broke, bow and debris sank, stern settled and then rapidly tipped up and capsized, rolling on it's left side, throwing people off as it then sank.

I will say the sketch scene can be spoofed with her new character if she is a Na'vi or put Neytiri in that pose.
