I used to, but I quit because CCP's anti solo player attitude was annoying me.

What ship you fly? I'm shooting for the Cerebus (The rush boat-attacker). I'm stuck with a Caracel right now :|.

Hehe. I used to be a solo player, mostly did missions and industry but killed the odd griefer too. I did own 3 marauders (to save having to change fittings ) and a freighter, in the end I had more money then I really knew what to use it on.

... how do you make money! ARGH

I get the feeling mining is the beginners career, but I'm thinking if you know a thing or two about trade, you can make a quick dollar real quick. I'm always stuck around the 2-25mil. ISK. When I usually reach 25 mil, I find that my Carcael is destroyed by pirates. It happened to me twice in a row.

Protip: Stop going into lowsec. There's nothing there. All the money is made in either highsec (level 4 missions, trade or industry), or 0.0 (ratting, moon mining), but you need a huge alliance who own space to really be safe in 0.0

If you want any advice with fittings or with doing something, ask and I'll see what I can remember, although it might have changed a bit since I played.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I need alot of time on my hands to do those missions, let alone look at EVE mission manuels for the best fittings possible when it comes to specific missions. I hate it when I'm a missile boat and their rail gun ships, they move on you fast and make your missiles into bad bullets. I will pick this game up again when I'm on Semester Break maybe.

I also have Caracel... I'm aiming for Dragon next.
Btw, I'm making money by doing combat missions and then salvaging.

Well, missiles always used to be the best for missions - no need to change ammo types for range vs damage, no tracking, and a single, selectable damage type. Even though they did get nerfed a bit (making them even more useless for PVP as a result) back when I was playing, they were still most people's weapon of choice for missions. I got a Raven when I moved to l4s, then later upgraded to a Golem, they went a lot faster. The other good ship for doing l4s quickly is a Dominix with sentry drones, but that's a very tight fitting as well as requiring quite a bit of attention, and is more skill intensive to use well.
Not sure if things have changed recently, but eve-survival has a wiki for mission guides, was always a great source. http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=HomePage
I used to be a contributor there back in the day
