Default James Cameron's Avatar: Tsu'tey's Path #1

At the time I post this, we're two weeks away from finally having the first second Avatar comic book.

James Cameron's Avatar: Tsu'tey's Path #1 will be released into comic book shops on January 16th. If you plan to get it from a comic book shop, make sure they have ordered it ahead of time.

Alternatively, if you don't have access to a comic shop or your comic shop can't be bothered to get it, I'm sure https://www.comixology.com/ will have it available digitally.

Our local comic book shop didn't order it in, so we had them order a copy of issue #1 for us. We'll get it in 2 weeks. Pre-ordered issue 2 & 3 though so we'll get them the day they are released in Feb & March.

So what do people think of issue 1?

I liked it but its not perfect. The plot isn't that strong at present and some of the new characters are a bit hard to tell apart. But there is potential and I like what they are doing with Tsu'tey.

I'm not sure the new characters are really meant to have prominent roles of if they were just sort of there.

I quite liked it. One thing I really got a kick out of was the comic book translation brackets around the english dialogue.

What I mean by that is this: In comics, they don't put french of german or russian dialogue on the page. They put english dialogue surrounded with <brackets> meant to indicate people are speaking a foreign dialect.

They had scenes taken directly from the movie in the comic. In those scenes, they had the English translation of the Na'vi words spoken in those scenes. When Jake then spoke english, that's where the brackets were. It's a minor thing, but I thought that was a really nice touch.
