Here is a new article about Avatar 2. James Cameron talks about Jake and Neytiri's family. It mentions their daughter who will be eight years old in the film. Her name is Tuktirey played by Trinity Bliss. According to James, she watches her parents get into a big argument while hiding under a big structure and peeking in on them. This is a marital dispute that is very critical to the storyline. I like that this will show Jake and Neytiri's relationship is far from perfect. It makes the whole thing very realistic. Like humans, Na'vi have spats with each other. They don't always get along. Jake and Neytiri are no exception. If they were shown as being in a perfect relationship with no arguments or disagreements, it would be very unrealistic. No relationship is perfect. Every one will have its ups and downs.

The question now is what that argument is about. How their daughter should be raised when one of them is not wholly Na'vi? How to respond to the returning humans? How many more times Jake has to try pronouncing "nari" before Neytiri stops bopping him on the head?

We shouldn't forget that Jake and Neytiri have two sons named Neteyam and Lo'ak. Neteyam will be played by Jamie Flatters. Lo'ak will be played by Britain Dalton. I suspect Neteyam will be a teenager while Lo'ak will be a preteen. Jake and Neytiri could be arguing about one or both of them. I don't think they would argue about something as superficial as him mispronouning Na'vi words. One thing is clear. They have their hands full with three kids.

Ahh finally some news! This has gotten me "re-excited" for Avatar again
I wonder how they will age the main characters whilst still keeping them 'appealing' to the audience...Does anyone know what the scheduled release date is? I think I remember reading somewhere that the date had been pushed back to 2021?

That's great
Overall it has been a reeeeaaally long wait for the sequel - but its good to know were getting close now. Before I think everyone was a bit 'in the dark' as to whether production was even going to happen! To think when I first watched Avatar I was 9 years old! Now I'm 18 going into University

I'd definitely say I could; I remember when I was younger I found the character Tsu'tey really annoying, but with age that's changed... not my favourite character from the film, but has definitely 'risen in the ranks' for me!

my interpretation of Avatar and it's ideals/themes, has not changed over time, nor has my love for this world and it's People, but sadly i am ten years older and a bit more jaded/cynical/angry at this ridiculous species i am part of. there is no hope for the future unless it is a collective action and approach. everyone.
if you throw a frog into a pot of hot water, it will immediately jump out. if you put the frog in a pot of cool water and slowly heat it up, it will boil to death before it realizes anything is amiss. we are temperate creatures in a semi-temperate environment, and any change to that biosphere is fatal in the long-term...but all we do is blindly watch stupid reality trashtv and facehook in the short term. wake up, humanity.

In regards to our perceptions of humanity ,, or the human race in general , its always the bad aspects of human endeavors that make the news and get the press ,, this impacts what we reflect upon. and this also reinforces a very lop sided perception upon the human race as a whole. Avatar and its mirror story aspects , touch upon some very sore spots of those endeavors and challenges us to open our eyes and address the heart of what lies behind or under them ..these actions of self refection can lead to some rather big picture perceptions and questions upon the roots of our source code theses reflections can drive some very powerful transformative changes in the path we chose walk down, and I think that was the prime intension of the films story tellers from the beginning of project. this goes well beyond the examples of common escapist entertainment in many films of the past . don't forget it was a community of humans came together to create this work of moving art ..
