Sorry for posting multiple photo threads but this forum has a limit of something like 10 images per thread, so...
Update 2021-06-15 A Na'vi riding a sea creature...: Update 2020-12-18 Directly from JC's Twitter account...: The last set for 2020 filming —The Matador (a 50’ forward command boat) on a 16-ton, 360 degree motion-control base... ... and three Technocranes and a Russian Arm mounted on top of a Mercedes-Benz. Just another day on the set of the Avatar sequels. Update 2020-10-27 Here's a behind-the-scenes photo of Kate Winslet at the bottom of an underwater motion-capture tank and she had this to say about underwater scenes: “I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff.” And here's a glimpse of a small part of the Science Lab, a key facility at the RDA’s new Bridgehead installation. ------------------------------------------------------------ Anyhoo, in this photo, we have our first look at Edie Falco as General Ardmore, the new head of RDA activity on Pandora: Also, isn't the guy next to her Kevin Dorman from the first movie? (He was one of the operators for the huge tractors). Doesn't say anything in his IMDB page but I could swear it's him. Cheers!

RDA having a General run operations instead of Corporate is a nice touch, shows they are taking things more seriously.
Nice uniforms too, although the pixel stuff might be a dated concept by 2020 I thought it was nice for Avatar universe and will miss them tbh. Thank you for uploading this.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what they are standing in front of in the 'General Ardmore' picture?
It could just be a table for CGI to be put in (like the holographic home-tree map)? But I'm not entirely sure.

i think it's a 3-D map table, like in the first film, but probably more advanced.

Though at first I did get a bit carried away thinking there was water in there - and maybe it was a 'tub' for sea-life to be put in for research (which when you consider the ocean theme of the next film, isn't TOO out there I guess ).

we really need some more promo pictures from JC and Weta. 11 years already, and more to wait. would it hurt to give us some hope?!

To be honest, I’m not entirely convinced about the return of RDA in the sequels. We’ve had a human-Na’vi armed engagement in the original film and I would rather that the sequels delve more into the dynamics of Pandora by itself.
That camo pattern looks...ugly (still better than ACUs ) Perhaps it’s just the lighting. In any case, I can understand that our real life military utilities are moving away from pixelated patterns to Multicam or lookalikes (we Marines are an exception), but for the sake of continuity I hoped that they would have kept the pattern from the original film. From a lore perspective, I’d be interested to know about Na’vi aquatic capabilities.
