I read the description and watched the whole thing through...

Here's the thing. I had a dream once, about what my mind depicted "Avatar 2" as (I've forgotten most of it by now). But I woke up crying from joy because the song playing along with what I saw was, in fact, "This Land", from The Lion King. So when I started to watch your video, I got all those feelings back, since this song and Avatar together have kind of a sentimental value to me...

...Up until I noticed the clips really just didn't match the music, and then the transition to Pocahontas sounding pretty strange. The Pocahontas bit (especially with the ikran riding scene) matched up a lot with it, but by the time "This Land" returned, the clips went really well with the music, but my feelings had subsided for the song since I'd been listening to Pocahontas for a while. The ending was suitable, I guess.

I dunno. I guess I would've just done it differently. I understand you said this isn't your best, and I guess I'm just reiterating that to you... ...But honestly, I think it'd take a lot more effort to give the song a more suitable set of shots. In fact, it'd be better to make a tribute to Jake alone with "This Land", with many solemn shots of him in time with the music... and memorable dialogue bits wouldn't be too bad to include.

Seriously though, I still admire your effort at this next one; and in so little time!

^^^ all very true Woodsprite, i love your analyses of my videos! theyre great! thank you!

yeah, this probably should have been broken into separate videos given the differences in the songs: This Land-The Lion King, and Farewell-Pocahontas
(i just really liked the way Farewell went with the Flying scenes )
(and i really liked the way the end of This Land fit with whole jake opening his eyes ceremony too)
guess i should just not combined them lol

yeah my scene selection and blending wasnt the best at the beginning, probably from a lack of clear focus in the video, idk, i did throw this together really quickly, spent more of the time trying to blend and extend the music clips, (which still didnt turn out well)

I really like your idea of using This Land for a solemner Jake's journey kind of tribute, sounds cool, but im running outta time, packing for college and moving back into dorms and starting classes.
If i get the chance, ill try it again

thanks again Woodsprite!

This one was actually pretty good! Still not perfect, as you said, but nevertheless a much, much better video to watch, with the music being totally consistent and unchanging to other dissimilar songs. There were a few points where the music made some pretty weird transitions, but it still held together.

My favorite part's gotta be when Hometree's being destroyed, with all the voiceovers. And very effective with the echo effect on some of the voices (especially Jake's).

The shots also matched up much better... What's really important to me personally is the fact that I was reminded of my dream with your video... Got my eyes glazed over a bit while watching. Very fine material. Loved it.
