I don't see the point of "leaving" or "never visiting" a website...unless you are sad whenever you come here...? If not, then come on man, so many people like you here. Come back occasionally to say hi.

Okay, all these people leaving are starting to piss me off. This is going to probably be a decently long read, bluntly written, and somewhat rude. If this turns you off than just don't read.

Firstly, to the guys who have left, or have thought about leaving due to drama. You are being so childish doing this. All you do when leaving is give the "enemy what they want", and leaving a website from difference of opinion over the INTERNET is ludicrous! Ignore the stupid people, thats what you do in real life is it not? You dont just move towns because of one or a few people do you?

Now for you Colonel. I love your posts, what you bring to this forum, your wonderful insights on things, but seriously? You are going to leave because you feel you have talked about Avatar to much? Run out of things Avatar related to talk about? So what, are you really going to leave over something so trivial? If you read the posts in this thread it is obvious that this community adores you, we have a great respect for you, and do not want you to leave. Here is something to think about, any forum has a specific topic, however I understand that you can always become "drained" of the topic, but this is what the off topic forum is for! When you make friends like we have here why leave them all? Take a break if you want, you are going on a trip so use that to clear your mind. When you come here though you dont need to talk about nothing but Avatar, you can discuss anything!

Colonel, with your friends in real life, when you start running out of things to talk about on a certain subject do you just pick everything up a leave? No, you likely change the subject to something else interesting, why not do that here? Why leave all your friends, does the thought not sadden you? As someone else said, unless coming here makes you depressed than maybe I see your point.

I will ultimately respect any desicion you choose to make, however, making a move like this will also change the way I have viewed you since I first met you. As it did with the other users that have left. I apologize if this has offended anyone, but I am tired of just sitting back with my mouth shut.

I wish you the best,
John M.

@ the Colonel

After standing up for the wrongdoings in regards to AF and being part of the group who spearheaded the creation of this place, but then just leaving so soon would mean all that work and effort was in vain?

@ anyone else thinking about leaving.

Unless you actually no longer like Avatar anymore, don't you think after investing so much of yourself into your love of Avatar as well as the community at large, would amount to a tremendous waste of your time and effort by just leaving?

If you leave then I may as well leave too. But I have some political and therapuetic reasons for staying also.

Well, if you must go, then I will say thankyou, it has been an honour.

You will be missed, but I can't really say I understand it. For me, if I didn't have a place to come and read and talk about Avatar, I don't know what I would do. It's still consuming me, more than 2 months after I saw the movie for the first time.

What I am seeing, and this is in part why the TOS formed I think is that it is becoming a forum of friendship and support. Just look at some of the posts that have recently been posted on the Off Topic forum and at least on in the General Avatar forum.

It has come to the point where several of us trust one another enough to pour out our thoughts and feelings, share opinions, and our lives. This is a network of friends who have come together because of one movie. I think that is what is special about it. I think that is also why it saddens us when one of our members leave .

We will respect your decision. I know I will but please reconsider.
Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmuké. Truly. This is not just a forum about Avatar, it's something much, much more big and important than that. This is a place where like-minded people can meet and discuss about everything, this is like a SECOND FAMILY to me. I don't want my family to break up!

I approve every single word, Gunny. The "drama" that happened between us and AF caused much distress, much more than the whole thing deserves. If someone on the other side keeps on pissing you off because of what you did... then just ignore him. Quitting here is just like to give them what they want.

Exactly. We are a community, a family as I said above. We can discuss about anything, not just about Avatar. Having nothing to say about this wonderful movie doesn't mean you have to go away from all your friends!

Colonel, Woody, and anyone here who feels like going away from all of this: please, I beg you, think twice before doing so.

Andrea

This is entirely your decision and I respect that.
However, this place won't be the same anymore.

I was thinking of posting similar, but Gunny pretty much nailed my thoughts on this.
