But I sure wouldn't want to be under his command! He gets his whole force wiped out and his only reaction is to be angry because it's making it harder for him to complete the mission. He doesn't care at all about the lives of his own people. When the Dragon takes fatal damage, his only thought is to to get into his AMP suit so he can get away and keep fighting. He doesn't make the slightest effort to save his crew. He's a heck of a warrior, but one lousy officer.

I'm not sure the crew was savable. In the initial brief he did show the concern about keeping those he was responsible for alive. I will give you that "force wiped out" part. Call it extreme mission focus.

On to a different topic. Perhaps we could see a prequel -- Miles Quaritch takes on Nigeria.

Well...thats a villan for you...most only care for themselves which is what makes them a villan in the first place

Yeah he is definitely mostly focused on himself, I think he did really care for his troops, and he seemed genuinely proud of Jake when he pulled of what he did, either way to know your entire battalion got annihilated, and still try to finish "the mission" which was physically impossible at that point due to the lack of explosives, he could have just turned around and walked back to camp but he chose to fight, the cause was evil but seriously how bad ass do you have to be to look at life and be like "...Nah, I think I'll just battle it out for a while" lol He deserves an Evil award

I kind of want to draw a mecha quaritch.

He should have some kind of ridiculous gun for an arm and be painted like his dragon gunship with the little dragon symbol.

But I hate him. Sometimes I wish I could just magically drop in on him in one of those scenes with a katana or a shotgun or something and shut him up.

Quaritch was just a guy who was doing his job and very damn good at his job. In most other movies, he would have been the hero.

I also made this picture tribute to Quaritch's awesomeness a while ago:

I thought he went kind of insane at the end, when his mission to bomb the tree of souls failed and his gunship was destroyed, and all he had left was a raging vendetta against Jake. Nothing else mattered, and so be it if the rest of his men were being decimated in the sky above. To me, that's when he became a great villain.

When he jumped out of the doomed dragon gunship, half on fire, I imagined a subtitle showing up like "FINAL BOSS - AMP QUARITCH!" like a videogame.

lol so true, that would be one ridiculous boss though, It'd be like Mike tyson's punch out, but instead of hitting you once and knocking you out, all Quaritch would have to do was glance in your general direction and you'd be unconscious/dead
