I'd love to go to the UK and see Avatar with all you guys who will be going, but unfortunately it's just something that can't happen.

Although if I was a bit older and had a job so I could pay for everything, then it might be different. *Maybe* in the future I *might* be able to attend something somewhere, but my parents might be a little iffy about me going somewhere by myself.

Have fun though everyone. Take some pictures for those of us who can't go.

Hmm, seems I should have had a go at organising something in Canada or America!

Hey, there's no reason why someone over your way couldn't find a cinema still show Avatar and have a meet up over your way.

Will forward through any pictures...

Would be great if there was any more from the UK to join us for the meet-up...

I went searching for theaters playing Avatar around here, and I found one, only one, and this coming Tuesday the 19th is the last day it is playing at that theater. I didn't think it was still playing around here at all.

Unfortunately, my mom doesn't want to drive an hour to the theater so I can't go see it. I tried my best to convince her, but it didn't work. I said that you don't know what your missing until you see it in IMAX, but she said she isn't interested to see it again. She did take me to see it 4 times after all...

My local theater just got an IMAX screen installed so I am sort of hoping that they will play Avatar in IMAX, but not getting my hopes up. The IMAX has been open since Friday, I saw Inception last night in IMAX and the audio system was better than the other IMAX theater (well it is brand new) where I saw Avatar.

At least now we don't have to drive an hour to the closest IMAX theater for future movies, including Avatar 2.

Have you tried offering to pay for the petrol and tickets...and flowers? I'm guessing you don't have much access to public transport so you can just hop on a train or bus to get you there and back?

Well, like you say your mom has already taken you 4 times. That's a good mom there. You'll just have to put a video projector and surround sound system on your Christmas wish list so you can watch Avatar CE.

Haha, actually I did offer to pay for the tickets. But got the same answer. She wouldn't make me pay for gas though. I could catch a train there and back, but I don't know how comfortable I would be doing that.

As for Christmas, I've actually already got a surround sound system in my room, the only component I'm missing is a big TV. I might be getting a 50 inch TV soon though. (I've been saving up for one)

Kaltxi folks,

I rang up the lady at the IMAX in Birmingham today to confirm things regarding our meet up.

However there has been a change of plan. They are not going to give us a private showing after all....

....Instead....

...they were going to run it as part of their programme with 'everyone' there!!!!! Yes, that's right a public showing of our film at the IMAX with Avatar.

I nearly fell off my chair when she told me, as you can imagine.

Now we will be able to say we have something common with James Cameron - we have both had our film shown at an IMAX Cinema!

OUTSTANDING!

I hope to capture as many piccies as possible, and video if I can, so we can all look back to remember the moment two Avatar Fan Forums had their film shown together with the film that brought them all together in the first place...

So just to recap: The film show will start at 20:15 on 5th November at the IMAX Cinema in Birmingham (UK). We will be there well before then to 'meet up'. Do come along for the world premier of the Avatar fan forums film 'Our Only Home'.

Oel ngati kameie, ma aysmuke si aysmukan,

Alan

Oh Wow!!!! That is too awesome! Congrats! I so wish I could be there to see it, but I can't. Although...it would be kinda weird to see myself on an IMAX screen (and kinda cool too).
Anyway, I'm so happy for ToS and AF and all of us who participated in "Our Only Home", and thank you once again, Alan, for making it all possible! Hell yeah -- our forum film will share the same screen with Avatar! Woo Hoo!!!

Kaltxi CyanRachel,

Yeah, sorry you are unable to join us. You will be there is a way though. In fact you'll probably be as tall as a Na'vi!

Irayo Cy. Like I've said before, I may have come up with the idea, but it sure could not have happened without the twenty people from the nine countries all working together to make it happen. If we can do this, just think what everyone in the world else could achieve if they put their minds to it.

I've just check the times and they have slightly changed. The film starts at 20:30 rather than 20:15, but hey, that'll give us an extra 15 minutes of chin wagging time at the Meet up.

So if anyone is around on 5th November and not interested in fireworks night (British thing) then come and join us at the IMAX in Birmingham.

Kiyevame,

Alan
