Every time I have PAD, I remember the reason is because Avatar is still affecting me. At that point I thank Eywa that I'm not in the dark anymore.
I plan on learning Na'vi. Not an easy proposition when you're also learning Spanish in school. I've found my self using a few Na'vi words in Spanish. This is partly because I ca'nt focus on either language without them blurring (into Tspanish?) together. I also can't really get out into nature because I live in the middle of about 10 square miles of painstakingly manicured suburb. It always makes me really angry to go outside and see grass that exactly 3 inches tall for miles around, trees in geometric patterns, and lakes lined in concrete. This isn't nature. It's captive green. Avatar has changed my life forever.

This planet does not need us to save her. We cannot kill her. She will certainly kill us first, and rightly so. If that happens, it will only be as a last resort, because she really likes us, as messed up as we are. If you doubt it can happen, look up information on the cities that are now under hundreds and thousands of feet of water. Graham Hanc ock (stupid censor software!) is the leading researcher in this 'forbidden archaeology', and regularly appears on alternative radio programs.
We are not the first nuclear power possessing civilization to have lived on this planet. And we probably won't be the last, unless our insanity can be cured.

I'm not sure. It's certainly possible there was a sentient civilisation before humans (it's happened enough times in scifi), but you can't say there definitely WAS without evidence.
If we did discover that, it would be amazing though, it would hopefully make people realise that we are heading towards extinction too, and hopefully change for the better.

well that's just the point of including the reference to Graham Hanc ock... he and many others have discovered evidence of ancient civilizations (we're talking 10,000-50,000 years ago) and the whole thing is being hushed in the "academic" community. Check out "forbidden archaeology" on google books
(clicky) actually forbidden archaeology is by Michael Cremo and Graham Hanc ock's book is called "fingerprints of the gods"

Sorry for the topic change, I swear I'm not threadjacking
![]() Anybody else feeling a little sad? It's kind of the realization that Avatar is now no longer in the movie theaters around my city, and I was planning on seeing it one last time (viewing 15 I think?) before it left. I just feel kind of... lonely, and disappointed that it's gone. It's not like I depend on the movie for feelings of companionship, for example, but it's become a bit of a routine to see it once a week or so, and I just miss the experience. I'm certainly not feeling depressed about it, but it's got me in a ho-hum/sad mood that I'll never be seeing it on the big screen again. It's a good thing this forum is still here. Here's a little love for you all!

![]() I'm so sad at the thought that I'll probably not see it in 3D/IMAX again, at least for for the forseeable future. The fact that I now can't actually see it until the bluray release makes it worse... When I get it, I'll probably wear it out watching it...

Hey guys. If you're feeling down, one of my favorite things to do is to listen to that go-to song. The song that always makes you feel good. I used to listen to the soundtrack, but that made me really sad. Now I listen to things that make me feel content about being on earth. Songs that remind me of awesome times, and make me feel like I'm not missing out from not being on Pandora. I picture another "perfect world" somewhere on earth, and listen to the music.
Jimmy Eat World is always good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91z4GiDj0bw

Thanks! On the topic of music, I would really recommend THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luy1snd0D9o It's a little different (scat), but it's got lots of emotion and some really 'warm' tones at the same time. Coming from the drummer of a very metal/screamo band, I'd say that must mean something ![]() I hope somebody else here enjoys it too! Oh, another thing to help ease sorrowful feelings- Get a little exercise. I posted that message above while feeling quite upset earlier this morning, and I feel much better after working out. Still miss Pandora though, but at least I can think about it clearly.

Wow that's really cool Boomchucka. I like it a lot. There's a lot of levels. Awesome.
And Yes! Exercise. Hahah I'm a distance runner and I love it! Running around through the trails, its awesome. It's also really good for you both physically and mentally. It reduces stress like nothing else, it gives you a chance to see nature up close, and it satisfies that primal thirst for adventure. I totally reccomend it for anyone. If anyone wants advice on getting started, I'm your man ![]() Ahh, now I'm getting carried away.

I also discovered that the IMAX center an hour from my house will be playing Avatar 3D on Tuesday, so I plan to go for at least one more time before it's gone
