Besides the Na'vi...

The NTIs.

"Aww man, that's better than UFOs!"

I also like thinking about the mysterious aliens (or whatever they could be) of 2001: A Space Odyessy.

The Yilane from Harry Harrisons Eden trilogy is a cool and interesting species (even if I do not know if one shall call them aliens since they live here on Earth):

Apart from the Na'vi which has beautful blue coloured female warriors, I like the Asari because it has beautiful blue coloured female warriors.

Mmmm. There seems to be a consistent theme there.

Wow, this is a tough one. Aside from the obvious (Na'vi.......after having dreams of being one, it never quite leaves your mind........), here are a few from various SF movies/videogames. Some of them are technically just from the future of Earth, but I thought I'd throw them in here anway:

"SKREEE!"

I love Xenomorphs. I watched Alien and Aliens by myself at home while I was sick with a 104 degree F fever. When I was five. I was never scared of a movie again.

Zerg!

I always play as these guys when I play Starcraft. They kinda got nerfed too much IMO near the release of Starcraft 2, and I don't like Starcraft 2 that much because they don't feel the same to me, but I still like them.

Reploids.

A seamless merging of biology and technology, producing some of the fastest and most powerful beings the world will ever see. From the megaman videogame series.

Mars people (and one of their mechas).

These guys were inspired by H.G. Well's "War of the Worlds" in their design. They hail from the "Metal Slug" videogame series and are the true villians in several of the games, only appearing in the final missions.

Quarians and the Na'vi, and maybe a bit of Turians and Asari there too.

Thought I should say a bit about mine.

Na'vi: Self-explanatory - best people in the universe, completely.

Asari: Hot (although not anywhere near the Na'vi ) , interesting (biologically and generally) and within the Mass Effect universe, arguably the best race.

Klingons: Driven by honour, have some of the coolest ships in ST (actually, in scifi ), went through some great development from just 'enemies for Kirk to fight' to arguably the most interesting race in all of Star Trek (or again, in scifi ) and strong, if occasionally differing, allies for the Federation.

I really, truly can't say that I fell in love with any other race than the Na'vi.

There's not a single other race I can think of that I even really think "Wow, they're incredible."

Then again, i'm not much of a Sci-Fi buff, other than the occasional Star Trek series.

The intersting thing about the Na'vi is that they don't feel alien. Although a a vulcan or a Bajoran look almost human, the Na'vi feel less alient than they do.

That's probably owed mostly to the (almost, though I feel like saying completely) photorealistic CG of the Na'vi. With a Klingon, despite their alien appearence, you can still notice the face paint and the paper mache. But with the Na'vi, they're rendered so well that it's almost completely believable (or completely believable - I'm just trying not to overstate).

While they look very different in some ways to humans, the Na'vi are so realistic we tend to relate to them, which we wouldn't really do if we knew it was some guy in a rubber suit.
