I don't blame the settlers for wanting to be with the Native Americans. With how hard life was for them (they had no knowledge of how to live off that land, after all), not to mention all the religious fundies running around screaming about witches, I'd want to get the hell outta there, too.

Though one of the biggest obstacles is how we could accomplish large scale projects, things too big for one tribe alone. Obviously it would involve tribes interacting, but how exactly, I'm not sure yet. I know, it's full of idealism, but a guy can dream, and who knows, maybe with enough work it can become a reality, though it would require a few major paradigm shifts on the part of humanity (we need them anyway, because our current paradigms are going to kill us all). Though I have been working a bit on a sort of "Pandora on Earth" civilization. An effort to make the intangibles a bit more tangible. Basically a primitive society with a few selective technologies to recreate, to a degree, the things on Pandora we have all come to love, but sadly do not occur naturally on Earth (like, my old example, hang gliders as Ikran). IIRC Zenit was also working on something similar a while ago.

God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden Last edited by Tsyal Makto; 10-25-2010 at 08:10 AM. |
