Who cares if we're white, or black, or brown, or yellow, or red? We're all the same color inside...blue.

"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden

That isn't the point.....

They aren't being kept in a fishtank or sump with plenty of water, they're shoved into a box so tight that they cannot move, and they aren't given any water to help keep them moist (from the looks of it).

It's about respecting the fact that it's a living thing, and that they should be treated as such until you are ready to kill them.

All living things deserve our respect, whether they're crabs, dandelions, or zebras.

I don't see how they're surviving. There has to be something we don't know about this.

I second this: no creature is superior or inferior to others, despite what we believe about intelligence or size being a measure of the worthiness of animals.

I think Sovereign's the only other person I know here who's asian.

...No. I'd say humans are superior to crabs.

Even though it's just a crab, I do feel a bit sorry for how it's treated (confined in a little plastic container) But I'm more concerned with modern society, who feels the need to sell living things through a vending machine WTF?

Granted, if something like this were happening in Europe or America, I'd be pretty disgusted and angry. But this is Japan. They're always weird and disgusting to us.

Hmmm I'd consider your opinion to be truth..If only humans weren't responsible for mass population, exterminating other species, consuming all the available food and water and rendering the earth a worse place to live in..
So no I don't agree..But hey that's just my opinion against yours, no hard feelings.

Commuters in China are being offered a supposedly healthy alternative to crisps and chocolates from underground vending machines - hairy crabs that are meant to be eaten while still alive.

The Dazha hairy crab, a popular delicacy in the southeastern province of Jiangsu, is on sale in three different sizes in the province capital of Nanjing.

Prices for the small, medium or large crabs range from the equivalent of £1.50 to £5.00.

The crabs are packed into custom-fitted plastic boxes and chilled to 5C, leaving them sedated but still alive.

If a customer gets a dead one, he or she will get three live ones for free.

"The customers were a bit sceptical at first as they were worried if the crabs were alive or not," Wu Zhendi, general manager of the Twin Lake Crab Co, told reporters.

"But now they see they are alive, they keep coming back.

"We are selling hundreds each day, and more at weekends."

The company now plans to expand its business and is even thinking of trying out sales in Japan, where vending machines are big subway business.
