I also like that line in the article after the summary of new technology... "simple stuff like that" I... Am... EXCITED!!! Hmmm, 2014, I'll be 24... where will I be in life? Gives you something to think (and if you're me possibly worry) about |

That is a major relief to see that the time gap between 2 and 3 is only a year as opposed to the 4 between 1 and 2.

I made a comment on the article: I like that JC is pushing the limits of film-making ever so further back. He really does downplay how this all might revolutionize the way movies are made (again). The one thing I'm not looking forward to is his plans to introduce higher frame rates for the sequels. 24fps is just the medium movies are made in which distinguishes them from amateur TV like documentarys, soaps, reality TV, y'know. I really hate seeing it in movies (Public Enemies, 2012) as it doesn't look as professional or big budget. I specifically bought a TV that wouldn't replicate higher fps through higher frame cycles like 400Hz and whatnot. Maybe this direction might be good for a movie like Avatar but I am certain that if it's not done right it will ruin the experience for me. wait, WHAT?
Movies have held back progress with 24fps for AGES... there is a huge difference between 24fps and a decent rate, that's why films have to have artificial motion blur that reduces quality. I'll be REALLY happy if Avatar 2/3 finally improve quality of film

How many frames per second is seeing real life through your own eyes?
If something like Call of Duty or a sports documentary on TV appears that is 60 frames per second, in my opinion it looks as if the action is happening faster and more smoothly than if I saw it with my own eyes...hmmm ![]() These are the questions. ![]() Side note: UNDERWATER? *Grabs scuba gear*
