Space battles in the sense that most people conceive them are a ridiculous concept. The same guy that wrote this great piece praising the design of the ISV Venture Star:

Atomic Rocket: Realistic Designs

...also wrote this article that describes just why most space battles seen in movies are ridiculous:

Atomic Rocket: Common Misconceptions

Because it is incapable of atmospheric entry?

I'm not sure. I'm fine with whatever as long as it is a great movie.

One thing I DO want to see though is more Na'vi characters.

Back on topic please. I will move all these posts about space stealth (which IS impossible) to a new thread now.

Nice links. Very interesting.

I have copied the post that got gaught up in the space battle thread.

I love space battles. Even the improbable ones (especially B5). But I don't think they are approriate for Avatar.

I want to see more battles on the ground. I think there is great scope to continue the technology vs. biology theme. We got a taste but it would be nice to see more.

I would like to see the enemy (who ever they may be) attacking with technology and the Na'vi using ingenious ways to take them down using their natural strength and skill. I would also like to see the Na'vi start to use their environment to their advantage in battles; i.e. moving around the canopy of the forest and using stealth.

Naturally, i want more Neytiri. But in a way that reinforces her best characteristsics, expands her personality, while remaining true to what she is.

I want to see her laugh and cry and show her passion. But don't make the love story too soppy.

But there is one thing I don't want.

NO IRRITATING HERO CHILDREN PLEASE.

I REALLY want to see more of the language. We need more words here.

But other than that, I just want to see more Na'vi people, less humans. New creatures would be nice. I'd kind of rather that it still followed Jake and Neytiri when they didn't have a kid, parenthood would really change the feeling of the movie....

Lets see...

More interaction between Jake and the Omaticaya people

More of Pandora

Maybe a little bit of Earth. It would be interesting to see how society would react to the RDA's treatment of the Na'vi, and Pandora. And the effect of having the unobtanium supply cut off.

Moar Neytiri

The next thing wouldn't really have a place in the story and would likely never be shown, but I can dream right?

At least 10 seconds footage of the ISV Venture Star....in interstellar space....under full power

30km long exhaust stream many times brighter than the sun ftw

Second!

What I love about Avatar is that it isn't anti-technology. The very highest tech we see in the movie is this spacecraft and of course the Avatar program itself, both of which are neutral/good, whereas the mercenaries are forced by the special conditions they find themselves in to use much cruder, 21st century stuff. It's a good choice aesthetically and thematically.

Yes, I like Avatar's down to Earth Tech style where we can still relate to contemporary Earth.

Still there is scope for new and different technology if a new species is introduced. But again, I would like the technology to be interesting, but limited.

Hmm, almost forgot about Ninat/Peyral But yes, I agree. Would be nice if we could actually get a decent INTRODUCTION to them as a least :/ Damn mystery who they are O.o Also, wanna see why Neytiri chose to "recommend" them at ToV.

A waitress, taking orders from the ToS table: So if I understand you correctly, you want the same as you had last time, only more so, with more new animals and technology, more Na'vi culture and language, more beautiful sites on Pandora, and quintuple extra Neytiri. Would you like chocolate sauce on that?
