A flashback is fine, I guess, especially if it actually shows what happened at Grace's school, which made me sad it wasn't properly included in the SE.
Stephen Lang playing a NEW character wouldn't be so bad either as long as he was sufficiently different and not just another Quaritch in everything but name.

...Like the White Witch.

Seriously, I like the White Witch's character, but the Narnia franchise is really overdone with her presence, even if the sequels logically explain her recurrence.

Agreed. Should be moved.

Here is another way Quaritch can come back:

Some entity on Pandora uses Quaritch's body for some nefast purpose. A bit like the insect in Men-in-Black. But that is a really bad idea.
That sounds too much like 'cloning' IMO... but at this point who knows? Whatever or whomever the 'nemesis' may be would certainly have to be driven by RDA, and their resources will be much more capable and potent in the next film. The new villian will make Quaritch and his band of merry men look like a circus act. I also think that we probably have seen the last of Stephen Lang, but I could be wrong.

It's not really cloning, more like possession. But the effect is the same. We have someone who looks and acts like Quaritch but isn't Quaritch.

I was thinking of a potential ancient power on Pandora or in the Polyphemus system. It doesn't have to be the RDA or even human, or indeed Na'vi. Who knows who has been there before.

Yes, but I certainly agree that the next villain will be a step up. Or I hope so.

Well in fantasy witches can always return. But it would probably be more like Dr Evil. Perhaps we will have a Quaritch and a mini-Quaritch.

Just imagine, if we do have a mini-Quaritch, JC will be accused of ripping off Austin Powers and Toy Soldiers. Actually, I'm surprised the haters didn't notice that before. Just shows they lack imagination.

Any I don't seriously expect to see a mini-Quaritch. I seriously hope not.

Indeed. That one goes on the pile of 'implausible, stupid and extremely unlikely' too

In other words, the parody pile.
