Yep. There used to be another section devoted to the characters, but that got disbanded and spread about the character tropes, I think.

I love TVTropes.. Sometimes i can laugh my ass off when reading stuff there

And I still think that casting the Na'vi vs the humans as Elves vs Dwarves is genius.

In James Cameron's Avatar, the Na'vi are incredibly good and natural archers, have a deep empathy for their environment, are not ones to really mess around, and are tall, slender, and lacking in body hair. The Humans are incredibly skilled at craftsmanship, construction, and engineering, utilize big guns, mining machines, and high impact weaponry, live in dark multi-layered cities with lots of technology and little vegetation and natural light, mostly lack a spiritual connection with their world, and are rather gung-ho and upfront, not to mention short, stocky and hairy, when compared to the Na'vi.

I hate tvtropes... I used to edit quite a lot before eventually getting disillusioned, because 99% of pages there are just people complaining about series/films/books/games that they don't like and in their opinion that makes them bad.

Aw, I'm sorry you think so. I certainly disagree with it on some things (thank you, but Trudy is not a Spicy Latina just because she's Hispanic and occasionally raises her voice), but mostly, I see it as just plain fun. There is certainly honest admiration through it, as well as mocking. Most of the mocking I would say is good-natured, but it all depends on where one's sense of humour lies, I guess.
