It would not be as difficult as you think to engineer catastrophies. There are mysterious forces out there at work in ways which you do not understand.

Let's see..
Rainforest destruction: For wood and food, leaving expanses of desert after 2- 3 years of farming, when a new area has to be destroyed.
Oil addiction: Linked, because with a lower population, demand both directly and for related products (energy, plastics, fertiliser) would be much lower.
Exporting food: Required due to more developed countries shifting away from production. With a smaller population, even if some countries were dedicated to food and some weren't, there would be enough for everyone. As it is, there isn't.

I didn't say a reduced population would be THE solution, but it's certainly an improvement.

And who says a reduced population would be an improvement? Im not buying that. You have just been brainwashed by the Powers that be. Can you not think for yoursel? or do you have to believe everything they tell you to believe. You are just the kind of sheep that plays into the hands of these deceivers and liars.
And by the way, oil addiction is due to the fact that those sinister people I mentioned earlier have suppressed other viable technologies which would take us away from our dependence on oil.
