Connection To Our Ancestors?

The article talks about how the memories of our ancestors may not actually be lost on death, but are passed down through DNA. Maybe we don't need a tree of souls to communicate with our ancestors, because they are inside us in the form of their memories.

Very interesting article. I'm not sure if I buy the genetic memory aspect but I do believe that our loved ones who die do not totally leave us. I believe that they are still around, in another way. I ask certain ones for help, for prayers. In that sense, they are still here. Also, this is why traditions, music, art, literature, customs, religious beliefs, etc are very important and why we need to preserve, protect, and promote them regardless of which cultural/religious group, etc we are all from. Revive old traditions (good ones. Not all were good, some were bad) and pass them on to your future children and grandchildren. Keep them alive.

 Nah, I'm kidding. This sounds very interesting. Almost like we are our own Tree of Souls. To think, if you could tap into those memories...That would certainly make genealogy and tracing your lineage a lot easier  Thanks for sharing, ma tsmukan. That was a fun read.

Fascinating, although a bit beyond my scope. I suppose there is lots of possiblities about how we are connected to our roots, and i'm no scientist, lol. So I could go along with there might be something to what the article presents. Like others I believe that its carrying them in our heart, remembering and preserving their stories, and the connection of their spirits to this world when they pass on, but the universe is bigger than me, and so there is a whole lot more I'll never know than I do.

It's certainly interesting. I guess most people have at some point felt something that was completely instinctive, and you have no idea where it came from. That's likely genetic memory. There's certainly still a lot we don't understand about it all.
