Hmmm I'll look that up, Probably just shaving off a few seconds to fit in the extra scenes. Just tiny time management so it can fit on the disk. I heard that the entire movie takes up 47 GB.

I agree on the na`vi scenes as well. I dunno if it is caused because I`m already used to the original version, bur imo the scenes add nothing essential to the story, although they are great to watch.

Finally saw it, and the first thing on my mind is...why oh why didn't we get to see Max giving the finger earlier??
![]() Actually, the thing I would have liked to see the most that wasn't in the CE was Neytiri's "Spirit is all that matters" dialogue. I get the feeling that that wasn't even filmed, since I didn't see it in the deleted scenes. (Haven't watched all of them yet, though.) But all in all, a great extension. Now I've gotta catch up on threads after avoiding spoilers for a week.

I love the argument Quaritch makes, well, more like a threat: "You're a long way from Earth".
Argh I wish that scene was in the first cut.

Well, he`s an idiot (also emotionally) and a jerk. But at least you can see some regret, something you don`t see in Quaritch at all. That`s why I almost felt sorry for him, cause it is possible, that in other circumstances, he could`ve changed his behavior.

If you know something is wrong and just stand by and let it happen, in your own way you're being as bad as the people who do it. I always did think that after Hometree, his face has a bit of an 'oh crap, what have I done?' expression though.

Me too, and I also always wondered why he seemed so tense when Jake and Grace came to beg him to go and speak to the na`vi before the attack. Now with the deleted scenes everything has a lot more logic.

I have been avoiding all of the CE threads until now. I finally had time to watch the last of the CE deleted scenes.
The new opening was quite interesting seeing Earth in such a wretched state. Jake's demeanor on Earth was more upbeat than I would have first thought but it really adds a lot to the movie. The moment when Grace told what happened at the school was heartbreaking . Looking at the deleted scenes, I can see why many of the ones featuring Norm were cut. The dancing scene after the hunt would have looked amazing fully rendered. Do want. The Quaritch taking over scene was nice also. I smiled when Selfridge was banging his fists on the explosives. The expression on Quaritch's face when he confronted Parker gave me chills though. The guy definitely crossed the line into insanity. The dream hunt scene caught me off guard. I found it quite odd but interesting nonetheless. I also found the challenge scene very unusual but perhaps I am just used to the regular knife fight. The attack on Hell's Gate scene left me awestruck. The part where the soldiers were boarding the samsons would have looked amazing with the attacking wildlife creatures present. And then there was Max driving the Slashcutter... ![]() Seeing Max give the finger and the expression on his face, even in template form, was just.. .Words cannot describe how brilliant it was. I love the "don't go limp on me, boss" scene just because of how awesome an actor Stephen Lang is.
When Quaritch says "done," and walks out the door has got to be one of my fav Quaritch scenes. He just says it so evilly. I know there are a ton of people that hate Quaritch, and I do too--he's such a nasty character. But he's also one of the best played characters in the whole movie and definitely a force to be reckoned with. |

A lot of the deleted scenes with Quaritch and Selfridge were great.
