These cables were pretty much just gossip. Nothing that confidential was released. There's not that much risk. The only reason the politicians are making such a big deal is because they are trying to cover their own asses from humiliation. The American people have every right to see what is in these documents.
"One man's transparency is another's humiliation." - Gerry Adams. This isn't putting anyone's life at risk. If someone wanted someone else dead bad enough, they'd get information about them somehow, with or without Wikileaks. Releasing the Pentagon Papers made Daniel Ellsberg a hero, but Cablegate made Julain Assange a villian. Wow, how times have changed... Apparently they are going to be exposing the banks next. Stickin' it to the bastards on Wall Street, I can't wait. This is probably also why half their *****s in the media are calling for Assange's assassination. ![]() 'Tis a great day for freedom of information. *sniff* I love the smell of freshly aired dirty laundry.

"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling." - Inception "Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden Last edited by Tsyal Makto; 12-03-2010 at 09:48 PM. |
