Yesterday I finally watched the SE! And I gotta say, I was more excited because of watching Avatar once again on a big screen in 3D than watching these additional scenes. In my opinion, they weren't that special.

But "Neytiri and the fanlizards" scene was my favorite. I think it was the best of all additional scenes. Tbh Tsu'Tey's death was a bit too long for me. And it ruined the good mood after watching Quaritch's death and the beautiful "I See You " scene. :/

Aah, NeyNey on big screen is even moar beautiful...

Not even the extra Tree of Voices scenes?

For me, I thought of the Tsu'Tey scene as a "the truth has to come out". That is the way he died Since I already knew of it (from reading original script) I needed to see it.

And now Imp... the CE!

IMO, the deleted scenes in the CE (even though they're not rendered) brings a whole lot of texture to the story and chemistry between Jake and Neytiri

Well, the ToV scene...nothing special tbh.

You know, actually I even held the CE in my hands yestarday. The price: about $70. Sooner or later I'll see the additional scenes anyway.


Btw, it was great to get chills watching the flight scene again.

70bucks?! That is like... 70x7= 490 skr! DAAAAAMN! That's WAY too much. Here it only costs 250-300skr as cheapest

Yes, the Quaritch scene was rather disturbing, sinister and cruel. I agree that Parker may not have been such a 'Hard Nose' as the fist cut portrayed him to be, rather (as you say) a victive of military bullying.

If JC promises to render the entire deleted scene collective, I'll give him my hand drawn Neytiri picture - worth a mint when I die

I haven't actually heard anything... But then again, we don't even have a full 3D release yet, just a limited one with specific 3D TVs.

I'm hoping their just keeping quiet on it, I would love to get the Special Collector's Edition in 3D. But I guess only time will tell if they release it.

CONTEXT PEOPLE!!
When I first watched the SE version, I HATED the whole Tsu'tey death scene, as I thought it seemed an unnecessary tack-on, considering how well it was done in the basic movie.
BUT
now that I know that Lyle cut off his queue, rendering him permanently crippled, in Na'vi terms, and he was too weak to commit suicide, it becomes clearer. Why was the cutting part left out of the SE?
I however still prefer, mostly, the basic version, but the attack on the dozers was a integral plot advancement, one that should have been made mandatory.

Only today have I seen the deleted scenes, that were featured on the Blu-ray release of the Extended Collector's Edition. I'm very displeased that some of them haven't ended up in the movie, like the one with the party or Jake vs Tsu'Tey duel...

Btw, right now I really feel like travelling back in time and seeing the movie for the first time again

One thing I dislike about some of the scenes in the special edition is it's overuse of already used pieces of music. During the sturmbeest hunt, they re-use War from later in the movie. I think Tsu'tey's death likewise re-uses music from other portions of the movie. The master track produced for Avatar is allegedly six hours long. There (allegedly) has to have been other not previously used pieces of music they could have tapped for tho extended portions of the movie.
