Oh man, I would love to find this! Will scour the internets when I get home from class. I have listened to the soundtrack countless times and was always a little sad that all the songs didn't seem to be there.

Actually... they did. For over $3000!! Found the article:

UPDATE!

The auction is now over and it was sold for… *drumroll* US $3,060.00! Congratulations to the buyer, but who paid that much for this? Seriously! James Horner, it was you… wasn’t it?

Also, Soverign, what did you mean by somewhat available? I can't seem to find a copy to purchase or 'obtain' anywhere! I would gladly pay if I had to (Though $3000 is a little excessive, I couldn't afford that)

Seriously though, I'm offering the link to anyone who hasn't found it yet or doesn't want to spend the time looking.

...Also, I'm editing the entire score to take out long, arduous pauses (some are over 10 seconds long), and melding a few songs together while still keeping the said number of tracks; they'll just be continuing seamlessly into the next track. Some of the tracks aren't correctly positioned; I'm repositioning a few tracks so they'll go in order. I'm making very good progress. And since there's no real art cover for it, I'm creating that as well.

So as soon as I'm finished I'll notify on this thread, and anyone who wants the edited, "professional-sounding" version that actually plays like a real, straight-from-the-manufacturer soundtrack without any pauses and with a few songs that meld into one another from track to track (which I studied the movie to correctly edit), PLUS a new "Rebirth" track I ripped and edited that's basically the cue when Jake opens his eyes at the end, feel free to contact me via PM.

After all, it is a promotional disc set, not a bootleg.

That's amazing!

Thank you so much. I am eternally indebted to you.

Where did you get the raw unedited files from? Processed from the movie? Or did you spend that $3000 on the 3-disc set?

I would very much appreciate it, that when you are ready you could send a PM my way.

I noticed quite a bit of music in the movie that isn't on the soundtrack and I would like to have it.

Also, what is the bit rate of the songs?

(First post on here, but I came from Avatar-Forums)

The disc set leaked after it was released to the bidder; now it's everywhere on the net.

Bit rate is sadly only 160 kbps, down from the original 320 kb as I edited each song. Still though, you can barely tell the difference (I tested each one out; trust me, you can't tell).

However, they're all converted automatically to WMA files instead of MP3s... And when I convert them back to MP3 format, the bit rate is reduced yet again to 128 kb, so MAC users and Ipod users are... in the lightest sense of the word: screwed. However, CDs (though no one here probably uses them as much) are a plus.

This probably lowers everyone's hopes, I'm sure.

EDIT:

I don't think you'll ever be able to find a copy of the 3-disc set on CD like that, considering there was only about 1 that was made, at least that's official.

The only way you can get it now is through the net by download unless it's put up for sale (which'll probably happen never, unless a "More Music From..." soundtrack is released, like what was done with Braveheart, Titanic, Gladiator, etc.).

Well thats unfortunate. I have an iMac and a couple iPods & an iPhone so I guess I'm screwed.

I use CD's for everything, especially soundtracks because I don't want soundtracks compressed so I use a lossless file type. I don't download songs and if I do, it is single songs from the iTunes store when I don't want an entire album.

Is there another place on the interwebs that I can find it?

I'll send you the link to the original files (in 320kb). Though they'll be unedited (but at least they'll be compatible! ).

Thank you so much!

Just curious, is this available to purchase anywhere? I know it sold for over $3000 on ebay, so maybe it's a one of a kind thing or is it actually available to buy somewhere?
