Default To the death of a bird

Trapped in this cage
Of four walls and a screen
And a job, and easy food;
Where all my life is supposed to pass

-nothing but escaping could fill
this loss,
this void I feel
deep in the chest.
escape forever to something better than this,
something truer,
purer
so I could think
so I could feel
so I could live
again.

Trapped in a cage
I may not fly
but I can sing my loss

'till I get her back.

I just lost my bird a few weeks ago, too. I miss her so much. She flew out on one of the coldest nights of November, and I'm sure she froze to death within minutes (she plucks her feathers ).

But the way I see it, somewhere in the vast plain of existence, a new Mountain Banshee egg was just laid. And there she will wait, until we can meet again.

"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden
