I do not really understand your argumentl, WS&Isard. This is not necessarily about some conspirative groups, meeting in decracy to come up with political ideas or even about evil people who want to get more money. The problem is a cultural and a systemic one. Remove one CEO and he will be replaced by another. Vote for a different politician and he will make the same decisions in general as the other. The differences are minute. The problem is the political system and the culture (and the monotheistic book religions are part of that culture). There are certain memes present in this way of life that are inherently destructive and they do not go away and people tend to believe that they are the truth (TM) and the only way to be. Like authoritarianism, hierarchy, entitlement, competition, money, carrot&stick, progress as a way of life, unlimited growth,... - these memes if left in place lead up to the things we see now, even if you change the mind of individuals or remove them from their place in society (like fireing a CEO or taking away all wealth from a rich guy).
