You say that I am biased which may well be true without me consciously meaning to. However, you are being just as biased in stating that a logical being will always prevail. This is not always the case. It is almost 3 A.M here so I will not go into specific instances, but there are times that the emotional side will give you an edge.
You say to look at the world through logical eyes. I have tried this and have not found it the best way to view things. Does it help? Sure, yes it does. However, having that emotion gives you a more powerful view of things, allows you to adapt to things in a way that no logical thinking can. I am trying to think of better examples but it is late and my brain is tired. I am going to bed, possibly I can come back with a more substantial argument in the morning lol. Side note: I did not mean to insult you with the Spock remark. Merely that we are discussing you having an Avatar, unless you literally meant Spock in which case I would retract that LOL.

Don't underestimate Jake. According to the story he was Marine force recon who had seen considerable action. I don't know how many in this forum really know what that means. To me it makes him incredibly bad ass. He would be well equipped to make instant life and death battle decisions based on experiences he had been through. Being under fire can bring some to an amazing state of clarity and logical decision making.

^That is another great point! The special forces today under go a very rigorous training to assure that they do not panic at all and are able to adjust to situations incredibly fast and take out the enemy. While still being emotional beings. It is by using a mix of logical thinking and emotions that you will have the best results.
Also, who are we to know that the training by the time that Jake entered the Marines is not exponentially more than what it is now.

![]() Seriously though, I'm not sure if a vulcan would be able to appreciate Pandora so much, they're too analytical of everything and don't really show what they feel.

Spock is diplomatic, but what happens when diplomacy fails?

I'm experiencing a mental image of Spock meeting Neytiri for the first time..

After overcoming a serious case of cryo-lag, Spock sets out into the Forest of Pandora. At first glance, he finds all this tree huggin' crap illogical. After spending a year with the Omaticaya, Spock finds that the Forest, is an entropic system that defies all logic. Spock is forced to realize that some things are truly random and defy all logic, but still exist sucessfully, even flourish. This thought is suddenly cut off as Neytiri walks by next to Jake. Spock, with all his mental training can't help but hold back this raging primal Vulcan emotion that is envy...
