The only mistakes humanity ever made were to appeal perfection through materialistic things , humanity is simply praying to the wrong "god" , which is materialism , and the pathetic attempt to control nature and bend it into something that is productive to our society , and also for trying to outplay nature in so many ways that we don't even know anymore where we are coming from , maybe we just unlearned to "listen" , to care , and to pay attention to what is happening around us .
I doubt humanity has evolved any further than from the monkey whos using a stick to scratch out some termites out of a hole , perhaps monkeys in suits claiming to be something better , thats what fits us best.
