That's truly great news to hear. However, I hope that all those trees are allowed to grow to maturity. Don't want to sound overly paranoid here, I just hope the re-forested areas don't get de-forested again when no one's looking.

I was actually surprised to hear, but apparently quite a few of the places trees have been planted are in city areas, so there will be protection there at least

It varies a lot, from maybe a couple of hundred for a small one to thousands for a large one. Some of the trees planted were in cities though, as well as to replace trees that had been cut down in forest areas.
