Jake is bulkier than the Na'vi, supposedly he has more red muscle fibers, making him stronger but have less stamina. The Na'vi have more use of white muscle fibers, running around in the jungle all day hunting. More appropriate than strength for them, which is just why Jake/Avatars would have the best odds in a hand to hand fight with them.

Avatars are not any stronger or weaker than Na'vi, just a different body shape. I agree that Jake's avatar has obviously only been active for three months by the end of the film, so may not have developed as much as the Na'vi who have been doing it their whole lives. As mentioned previously, bulk is not necessarily any indication of strength.
I'd say they probably look more unusual, but not necessarily any worse looking - other than the different number of fingers, their eyes are slightly smaller and closer together, the different body shape and bioluminescent markings. It would be similar to the differences found between different human groups, I'd guess - after all, Neytiri still found Jake attractive.

Neytiri fell in love with Jake (and yes looks aren't everything, but a significant amount of attraction would lie within looks). This isn't the first time an Avatar has fallen in love with a Na'vi and despite what they say about Avatars they don't look too different so i'm going to say no

It's hard to say how his base athletic potential stacks up against the average Na'vi... it could be that his build gives him higher strength at the expense of endurance or agility. Or he could be exactly average on all stats. Or below average. Or above average. We have to remember that avatars are not exactly "hybrids"... they're more like bespoke, genetically engineered specimens -- built using Na'vi genetic material but tailored to be neurologically compatible with an individual human driver. It's possible that avatars, being custom-engineered, are made as genetically perfect as possible and thus end up with above-average athletic potential (at least genetically speaking). Alternatively, it's possible that the complexity of the process makes them less robust than "natural" Na'vi.

I'll have to agree that it is not just structure and endurance alone. The Na'vi children are trained from birth to do this kind of thing, to go farther each day than they did the last. Jake has this training as a human, but not so much as his avatar. Working at it for three months, he pales in comparison to a born Na'vi.
On a different note, the avatars do have human features, which distinguish them from the clan. Grace's avatar is slightly different than Jake's, whether it is because of earlier developmet or her DNA mixed with the natives, is debatable.

Well, I think alot of good point have already been mentioned. I myself will have to say no too. The Na'vi look deeper than looks, they take in account the following, which is in my opion only. They look at hounour, loality, commuinty, skill to provide, and commintment to the people. Look proberly does not hurt...lol.
