Exclamation Avatar sequels to benefit environmental movements

Our next ticket to Pandora will help initiatives here on Earth.

In yet another move by James Cameron to pump cash into environmental conservation, the director has announced that the next two Avatar sequels will directly benefit green charities. “Fox has partnered with me to donate a chunk of the profits to environmental causes that are at the heart of the ‘Avatar’ world,” Cameron said. “I didn’t want to make more ‘Avatar’ movies without a grander plan in place.”

This is really stunning when you consider that the first film alone brought in more than $2.7 billion worldwide. A “chunk” of that would be game-changing for environmental groups eager for funding.
