...It's kind of what historically happened, though. Pocahontas II doesn't really give off the love vibe that the first one did, but in reality, she did fall in love with Rolfe, and they stayed together until her death... 3 years later.
I think we have the first film to blame for getting us involved with the whole John Smith + Pocahontas story (which never really happened; they were just acquainted). We need a better love story film about Pocahontas and John Rolfe... like the type of love story from "The Young Victoria". At least that movie incorporated a love theme where it was needed, and didn't just revert to the old Hollywood scheme of "If it's royalty, they're never in love," when that's just not true in some cases.
