Default Avatar Convention Survey - Results in!

Kaltxi everyone,

First of all a big IRAYO to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. We managed to get 100 responses on the dot!

The data has been now downloaded from 'Survey Monkey' into an Excel file incorporating a tab for each question's responses. Downloading the data also included a set of pie charts to help summarise the data. A few more selective pie charts have been added to help expand on the information gathered.

In addition a brief summary in word has been created from the Excel file data. This has also been turned into a PDF. So for those who don't have Excel or Word can still review the results of the survey.

So you want to see the results then? Well if you click on the relevant links below, you will be able to download them:

Excel Version

Word Version

PDF Version

OK what are the next steps from here. Well for anyone thinking of organising a meet up, Avatar convention or just a local meet up, you now have some useful information to help you plan your event.

In the meantime some avenues are being explored, but there can be no promises...

Once again, irayo everyone who took part from the clans of Avatar-Forums, Avatar Prime, LearnNa'vi, Na'viBlue and Tree of Souls. Though we maybe from separate clans, we have shown we can work together just as they did in Avatar.

Oel ngati kameie...hopefully one day

How strange! I have just tired opening then and they were fine.

Have you tried all of them? When you click on them it should give you the option to either 'save' or 'open'. You could try saving them to your computer to make sure you the file downloaded ok and then open them up from there

The word and excel files are 97-2003 version as I don't think everyone has the 2007 version. The .PDF file should open up in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Hope that helps. If you have any problems get back to me.

Great job, Alan! I was able to download the PDF file. I'm so glad we got 100 people to complete the survey -- Yay!
I posted this news (along with the links for downloading the results) on AvatarPrime and Naviblue.

Irayo CyanRachel! Thanks for forwarding the links onto our fellow Clans. You have to let us know what they make of it. Yeah I'm glad we made it to 100 too. If fact we got one last one on Sunday, making it 101. I'll add the results from that one in as soon as I can.

The excel file is fine, I opened it with OpenOffice (I don't use MS office ) and compatibility between 2003 and earlier versions is actually OK if you don't use any of the really advanced features.

The PDF is probably the best bet if you are having a problem opening it though.

GET ME A PILOT!

Brilliant....brilliant, brilliant,brilliant.....BRILLIANT!!!

#I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it!#

Phew! Ok, now I've got that out of my system, you see great minds think alike. Us here on ToS and another clan called Avatar Wiki! I didn't know of them. How many Avatar clans are there out there? (14 in the film wasn't it )

Anyway, as you probably guessed I will be contacting them as soon as I'm finished typing this. I think the work we have done in conducting our survey will be of much help to them.

Yep, I'll probably be able to go as well (and D.C. is only about 5 hours away in driving time from where I live in NJ). This is awesome news! I didn't know about the Avatar Wiki site either until now, and it's great that they're having a Planning Committee meeting for a convention. I think they'll definitely be able to use our survey results.

I find it amazing how two separate groups were looking at having an 'AV-CON' unknowingly in parallel and now, with a simple 4 word message from iPad, we have been able to share our thoughts. Irayo iPad!

I posted links to the survey results on their AV-CON thread and they seem over the moon (Pandora) in how it can help them plan the event. I've suggested they might want to generate a simple webpage for all clans to keep upto date with progress.

It's early days, but it looks like a serious attempt is being made to bring us all together...I'll try and keep you posted.
