If by Deus Ex, you mean Assassin's Creed 2, then I agree.

Fallout 3 was pretty good. I loved the story more than the game (which might explain why I really really loved The Road), which got really boring at times. Far too many trivial side quests.

And to be perfectly honest, I haven't played Deus Ex yet. But I will. After Mass Effect, which I've been wanting to play for the longest time, after all the hype I've heard about it.

Finally got to play ME 2 in 1080p this morning (new comp) and the graphics are amazing on full and the frame rate is a lot higher than the previous times I played it.

Too bad the new comp is for the family.

I'm a massively old-school gamer.

The 1980's were the peak of my videogame addiction, and I've never quite gotten past those mid-80's titles. Metroid, Kid Icarus, Megaman, Castlevania, etc. I still love 'em. That's what I got my Wii for, actually. I don't own any actual Wii titles, just VC titles. And while I own a PS3, the only game I have for it is Bionic Commando: Rearmed, a 2.5-dimensional remake of the 1980's NES version. If you like sidescrollers, I highly recommend it.

As for a true favorite: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997) for the original Playstation. My favorite sidescroller of all time, slightly beating Super Metroid (1994). There's just so much stuff in that game! I put in 100+ hours on several occasions trying to collect every item in the game, level up every item, etc., but finally gave up on trying to level up Alucard (the character you play) to 99, so I automated it.

After that, I can often be found playing old arcade titles in MAME. Capcom's "Strider" (1989) is a favorite there. As a kid, I'd played it so much that I could win on maximum difficulty with only one quarter. Now you know where my allowance went!!

The one game that I remember playing the most on the computer was Dark Castle 1 and 2. I spent hours on that game and the original 3.5 disks are gone now. I also loved playing the ORIGINAL Prince of Persia in black and white and then the color version (PP 2 folks, not the latest one). Even though it was just graphics, that fall from the really high level always gave me a panic!
Please someone tell me they know about those games or I'll just go sulk in the corner and feel out of place.
I just now noticed your post, but I have actually played Dark Castle before

My very favorite game is still (and will most likely ever be) Deus Ex - however, I did play another amazing game lately that definitely makes the top 5 for me.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl.

I've played it before, but only recently played it through. And... what can I say? The atmosphere in this game is AMAZING. It's INSANELY immersive, sucks you in and makes you feel like a part of the game world (not unlike Avatar, in fact).

You can feel the cold rain pouring down on you, feel the harsh winds, the heat of a campfire, the fear of your companions. Simply put... amazing.
