I began playing guitar in year 7 because my high school made it compulsory for the first 2 years to learn an instrument so i chose guitar because i was told a family friend had a spare. i got the case, opened it and looked at the instrument that laid inside, a Telecaster, and so began my journey into the world of music. i never enjoyed it heaps or was enthusiastic about guitar playing but i was actually a bit of a fast learner. whatever song i had to learn for the guitar ensemble i learned faster than most of the others in the ensemble, and i always got the hardest parts to play along with some others. after learning the basics of reading music and the basic chords then came learning some songs, and then some more theory. i never took it seriously because i wasn't into the type of music that was played on the guitar so at the end of year 9 i quit. i put the guitar back in the case and into the spare room of the house, not to be touched for what i thought would be for ever.
Then in 2009 a friend asked me to bring my electric guitar to his place as he wanted to try it. i brought it but he didn't play it and i ended up being reunited with an old friend. that's when i decided to get back into playing this great instrument, my love for rock and metal was stronger by then and it only grew from then on. i learned more theory and songs, my musical knowledge grew exponentially and my mp3 player was filling up quickly. at the end of 2010 i decided it was time to buy a new guitar so i bought an Ibanez SA thinking i wouldn't need the Telecaster but it kept me coming back to it and i ended up playing it more than the SA. I have learned so much with this guitar and it has served me well, but its time to say goodbye. being an old guitar there are somethings about it which just don't cut it, so with that i just want to say Irayo ma Telecaster, you have been great all these years and i'll never forget you. ![]() . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and say hello to my new weapon of mass destruction got it today for an insanely awesome price. -24 frets -locking tremolo -active pickups which can switch back to passive -awesome shape, very comfortable and looks awesome ![]() i recently also bought a new theory book which is just packed with stuff, this new guitar along with this book and lots of practice should lead to chaos and destruction in the future \m/ ^_^ \m/
