Written in a drunken stupor, this is my personal spin on philosophy...
Given enough time to escape, I’d say that any man would live his dreams in a life of wallow and self pity. Should anything be more significant yet so inconsequential as opinion? Yet, these things drive us forward. What we think we know is nothing more than a mirage, a faint wisp as the wind passes by. So are our lives, a faint wisp, at best. There is something out there, something which we are incapable of comprehending. Yet, this is the answer to our salvation. Should we be so arrogant to not consider? One can realize one’s own dreams. This brings satisfaction, but only on a level of superficial contentment. However, to have dreams but never realize them achieves not only dissatisfaction, but also empathy, as empathetic feelings lie deep within the consciousness. Others feel it towards those who pretend to have noble intentions, but never achieve them. The same as noble intentions rarely achieve anything but a brief acknowledgment. The world is never really changed. But does it matter? Does it hold in any high regard what accomplishments better the state of humanity? Humanity is nothing more than a blip in the scale of the cosmos, less, actually. Civilizations last no longer than the flutter of the heart in the measurement of what is the reality of time. So, what is so important about our accomplishments? When it comes down to it, by the time we are discovered, our specie will be beyond recognition compared to what we know today. And so it is pointless. Yet, it is of utmost importance to improve the current state of our affairs, as our affairs last longer than the lifetime of any one person. These accomplishments will shape what is discovered in the future by the unknown specie. And so, it is both pointless and of utter importance to accomplish the betterment of our condition, as we condition ourselves to believe that which we do not know. Should our future not be decided by what we do today, this would be of no consequence. However, since our future specie is to be decided by what improvements and deterioration we allow today, it is of great value what should be gained by our current effort.
