I have actually considered Corvettes and Vipers alike. They are just to sports car-ish if that makes any sense.

P.S. not really a big Chevy fan. Not a big ford fan either but hey for the mustang and shelbys I'll make an exception.

I view Corvettes as the lowest form of sports cars. Don't get me wrong there are some that are really really amazing cars, but the ones I see on the street are more like midlife crisis mobiles.

Midlife crisis mobiles. I like that. It's 95% true. Hardly anyone who buys a fast car actually uses it.

Deciding between a Charger or a 69 GTO? What are you made of money or something? Decent versions go for upper 5 figures and a perfect one can easily go over 100k.

Those old muscle cars like to go straight and fast. In most of the examples the old big engined beasts will out accelerate it. Add in turns and those old vehicles don't do as well. However, for the cost you can get something modern that is a lot more comfortable, just as fast, and can actually go around corners.

Actually I'm alot younger than you may think. However my money is just that MY money. If you saw I decided to go with a 2007-2009 shelby GT500. With a few upgrades of course.

Edit: When I get that car maybe I should get it painted crimson with a yellow hammer and sickle on the side. Considering my geographical location that may not be a good idea.

I don't know where to find that kit and I think its meant for the mustang. The GT500 got left in the cold when it comes to exterior upgrades.

Meh sometimes driving on the street... A LOT at car shows...

There was one guy at my automotive school who drove a 1970 El Camino with 22" 5 spoke chrome rims... that was the killjoy the car itself was cool (I love El Caminos) sounded cool too but those wheels killed it

If I went about 170 miles Southeast to Houston I would. But cars like that normally remain in the hood

*facepalm*

Most people that own Ferrari's and Astons in this area drive them 10 miles under the speed limit too...

The face of some douchebag viper over when you spank his ass with a smaller more fuel efficient motor in a car that just looks better is priceless. You wanna drive it conservative? You can get 32MPG out of an MN6 vette. Push it? A Z06 will spank a 360/F430 and it costs 150,000 less.

And uh... tm20... in uh... certain "ethnic" areas... yeah they're all over... Rofl

I've now seen precisely one car like that and I live in Southern California. That's nuts.

More seriously, most people buying sports cars are doing it for the perceived status and not the performance. I have nothing against an aesthetic good looking vehicles, but I'm an engineer and a car is a tool. I want the right tool for the job. Yeah I know that I'm some kind of extreme minority, but my $200 motorcycle will smoke most any car. When I need to look, um a little more professional I drive the Jag.
