What time on thursday/friday are people showing up??? and what is going on friday. I thought friday was the arrivel day, so if I came in on friday, where could I meet or contact anyone??? Thanks ( I might be able to change to thursday, but at 50% and friday is 100%)

, possibly more comingto Seattle from far and wide. I try and find out if it is for one night only or whether they woould be looking to have a run of the film and when (what time) they would be looking to show it. Hopefully this would give us a better idea on planning our meal at the Palisade.

In parallel, would it be possible for you to find out from the Palisade if they have an opening for us on the 4th June (and possibly other days if not). Also could you possibly find out when they would need a reservation confirming by and what sort of cost it would be. Might be worth suggesting about 20 of us again...may be?

Even if we have to leave the Avatar exhibition early to fit a meal in and the IMAX (if they are showing Avatar) it shouldn't matter too much as we can return the following day with the citypasses if we get them.

Hows that for a cunning plan? Any thoughts? I'm open to suggestion..as long as it doesn't involve taking a long walk off a short cliff!

I'm just trying to keep our options open so we don't paint ourselves into a corner.

By the way I think you found an excellent place! I looks like they has some private rooms which have their own private outside decks. How cool is that! And it is open all day too!

Don't worry, I hadn't planned on making the reservation just yet.

I just needed an idea of the amount of people so when I do call, it'll be more accurate. I did find out that for large groups to make a reservation, the manager has to be consulted. This would work to our advantage because I'm sure that they can give me better information. I'll call sometime in the next few days; that way if anybody thinks of another question I can relay them all at once. Either post them here or send me a message.
The restaurant is less than 3 miles from the hotel and up to 4 people can share a cab so the price each individual has to pay will not be bad at all.

I freely admit to being hopeful that somebody associated with Avatar (actor, actress, ...director

) will show up at some point during the lifetime of the exhibit (but hopefully on opening weekend). I mean, c'mon. You Brits got a visit from Lang in London. We Seattlite Yanks are only ~1000 miles from Hollywood. *Somebody* ought to show.

...but I will not be devastated if it doesn't happen.

Well, I think that many people are arriving on Friday and many on Thursday...either one works...

Oh and if an actor/actress/director was going to be there for opening day, I don't think they would publicize it due to hoards of people coming in just for that reason...so there is always a chance...

Okey dokey...it is thus changed. I also added in arrival times and some other stuff if known. And I just happened to be looking at flights and there was a split second deal to move to Thursday instead of Friday and save some money, so needless to say I changed to Thursday.

My plane arrives in Seattle on Friday at 1:15 and I think Fiyerwall's plane is coming in around noon.

Sorry for the slow reply Fiyerwall. Irayo for progressing this. It is really going to be a great night out for all of us. Aketuan's list will help with getting an estimate of numbers. The only thing I can think of is if anyone has any specific dietary needs like vegitarian or something. I'll eat just about anything as long as it doesn't crawl and fly or squats in the mud and wants to eat my eyes for juju beans!

MAybe when we need to order cabs we could find out if any of them provide like a mini-bus or something that might work out cheaper for us? But we can work that out later.

Kaltxi Drewan ~ I am a newbie with ToS and I know nothing from nothing; but, after reading your post, it seems to me that you and your wife would have sooooooooo much more fun if you came to the Seattle exhibit on the opening weekend with the rest of us Avatar geeks. Wouldn't it be extremely cool to meet all of us?

A few days in advance of the trip, I'll send out my phone number privately to folks in case any transportation emergencies should arise. My car is small, so I can't really set myself up to be a primary mode of transportation for a bunch of people (or I would, honestly), but if anybody ends up stuck somewhere at a bad hour, I'll be happy to unstick you.
