I attended a Catholic school and our Literature teacher made us read the whole Bible, so I can certainly tell you that I have a little knowledge about that, Bible and Koran are very similar but one is taken much to the extreme than the other. While one can rightfully argue that context is everything, the extremist religious take the Koran and the Bible literary and, unfortunately, ignorance among common people makes things worse. Without going too far, lets have a look a what is going on at Fukushima, Tepco chairmen went to apologize person by person for the radiation leak. Why? Because the people that lives nearby Fukushima is going to be tremendously discriminated with no basis because of ignorance regarding the real effects of radiation. I was surprised at an interview made by Television Espanola where the evacuated people were completely heart broken because they will no longer be able to get a job or house because they will be considered a danger for the rest of the people. If that happens at Japan, imagine what a turmoil will cause a person in a crisis like Libya is living. And Spock is absolutely right, if the Islam would get more liberal, we wouldn't be arguing about the dangers of religious people in governments.

Yes, yes people would. Yes, I would. I actually frequently do, and will continue to do so, because it's not only radical Islam that is dangerous.

I wrote religious to refer to any kind of religion or radical idealism. For example, Fidel Castro is a religious fanatic of his own regime...

BOTH have some extremely dangerous underlying messages going as far as to directly advocate genocide in places. I couldn't say if one is worse than the other or not as it depends on interpretation - different groups will have different interpretations, but the basic message is still the same in each, the more tolerant and progressive elements of both just ignore the particularly dangerous elements, while more extreme elements concentrate on and emphasise them.

That's something I didn't know. Anyway, there's still one Castro left, but seems more reasonable than the older.
Anyway, it is not a good thing to have free radicals ruling governments.

If anyone wants to be kept up to date with news on Libya join this:

It's a page set up by Libyan protestors who are against Gadaffi's regime.
