Very good. I like it a lot. The hair and the ears are excellent.

Few things I noticed. The features on the right side of her face seem larger than those on her left. And the eyes are a tad bit too big. But other than that, very good work.

Looking forward to your next one

ti kamie FoW,

Thanks for the feedback, I hadn't noticed the 'sidedness' you mentioned...I'll practice that aspect for my next one...Tsutey hopefully.

..a little quicker than this one

I'll give you my critque sir,

Good:
  1. Using pencil to make the strips on a Na'vi is difficult, however your shading looks convincing. With blue added, that pencil would be necessary to tell the strips and the skin apart.
  2. It looks pretty realistic. The neck, the nose, the eyes, again the shading.
  3. The attention to detail is amazing, some minor details were missing but would take a world of effort to do to go that extra mile.
  4. Decent perspective
  5. Perfect features, it's all very appealing
  6. Again! The features. I'm in love with them

Area of Improvement:
  1. The face isn't to scale with the features of the face. To achieve a more realistic face, a simple oval shape can't cut it. If I may suggest:
    • Studying the different perceptive of a skull
    • Draw more portraits at many different angles
  2. The left ear isn't to scale with the right, while sketching the head, make very light lines placing the starting points of the ears.
  3. I'm not sure how this could be done, but it would be very beneficial. You need to have shading in the portrait. A small amount is all that's necessary. The immediate region right under her neck should be lightly shaded if the light is coming from where the eyes say it's coming from. If you could crosshatch the shading region, you could avoid the confusion of the shading from the strips. However a word of warning, if not done right, it could make your drawing's appeal look 'unrefined' since it looks so good right now that a bad shading job could ruin the entire picture. (PS: I just noticed your coloring, which looks like shading, but it's so faint, I can't notice. I don't think when your working with average pencil that it's possible to make balanced shading between two different types of shading.)

With any critique I do, the objective is not to make you disappointed or angry. I just want to see you do better, regardless of what skill your art is at. If it looks great, than my opinion is omitted. However realism and a likeliness I believe are two different things. While one is more focused on characterization and the other the little things.

Your well on your way to becoming a very talented artist. It's obvious you got talent, but going the extra mile to make it look realistic is a grind you'll have to deal with until you get the hang of it. You make me very proud.

Nice attempt- better than I would ever be capable of. My major criticisms are all eye related. If you can tweak it so that her eyes are more in sync with the rest of the features it would be a lot better.

Default Thanks all

Hi,

It's been an age (before the time of the first songs ) since I've been up on TOS; so a BIG thanks for all the feedback.

Apollo, no offence at all I'll really try to address the points (is that you in the pic?) you raise. Since posting the picture, I've had a break and gone back to it and have notices SO many areas in need of change; such as the left eye tear duct which looks 'baggy' etc.

Yeah, I agre that I now need to study the physical geometry...really good point that thanks.

My next attempt will be Tsutey, I've finished my degree now so I'll have some time to draw, in amongst moving home ......again ?
