Which would you like to be, a Na vi (alternative an Avatar living among the Na vi) or a Jedi?
Both have their advantages and drawbacks: As a Jedi you can travel trough the galaxy and experience a lot of exciting adventures and meet a lot of interesting new species. You are also part of a community with strong bonds and you can sense the presense and doings of others. You have more or less super human strenghts and abilities. You also have at your hand a fantastic technology, with spaceships, amazing weapons, computers and similar. A drawback is that you are ideologically controlled and that you are expected to give up family and romantic love for the sake of the Jedi. You are also always at risk to fall to the dark side of the Force. As a Na vi you also will experience an exciting life with a lot of variation. You will live in a closely knitted society with a deep sense of closeness and community. You will also have a direct link to the nature, to animals and to other Na vi. You will live in a extremely clean and beautiful environment. A drawback could be that you are limited to one planet and have no access to advanced technology. Perhaps your mindset would be somewhat limited and that tribal conceptions will rule your life, without you having any philosophical alternatives. Also a drawback could be that your bonding ability must take place through a wire, a more wireless communication would perhaps be better, as are seen for example in the Edenists in Peter F Hamiltons Nights Dawn books (The Night's Dawn Trilogy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). So what would you like to be, a Jedi or a Na vi? |
