Obviously fake, but the idea behind a "second sun" is a possibility, but not likely. Betelguese has basically been ready to explode in a supernova for as long as we've known, and it could explode sometime in the next two million years. Obviously that wouldn't literally make a "second sun", but the brightness of such an event would give that effect on the sky.
