When I first saw Avatar, it took only a few minutes before I knew I loved this film. I saw it three times within five days. It quickly became my third favorite film.
Now, my mom knows how I feel about it. Still, she had no particular desire to see it. With the family getting together for Easter, I had the opportunity to play it for her. Despite being over a year after coming out on dvd. So, I start the film, and about FIVE minutes into it, she has to go do the dishes. ! ![]() ![]() !So I pause the film, and say loudly about how she would be missing the introduction to the main characters. So she comes back and starts watching again. While she does watch the film I can see she doesn't really get into it. About two-thirds through it, she gets a phone call that she takes, so I have to pause the film again (!), this time for about fifteen minutes. After the call, I show the rest of the film, and she hope for a glowing review. Remember, I loved this film. And her response: complete ambivalence. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She tells me, she would rather watch STAR TREK. Are we related? Way to cut me down there mom.
